Toshiba Supports Building Services Consultants with Information on Energy Efficient Solutions and Industry Legislation

More than 60 building services consultants recently attended a Toshiba conference to learn about the company’s energy efficient products. During the conference the consultants also learned about pending U.K. legislation and attended professional development courses approved by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

“Toshiba is focused on providing building service consultants with support and guidance on heating, ventilation and air conditioning trends and related legislation,” said David Dunn, Toshiba Commercial Director. “Based on the feedback we’ve received, we are planning future conferences, continued professional development courses, and new support tools to help consultants deliver the right solutions to their customers in 2009 and beyond.”

During the event, Toshiba demonstrated extensive and flexible VRF (variable refrigerant flow) solutions.  Highlights included the impressive SEERs/COPs (seasonal energy efficiency ratios and coefficients of performance) achievable and the energy efficiency benefits of twin rotor inverter compressors found in every Toshiba condensing unit that along with other technological advances enables Toshiba to boast the highest SEER value of any VRF manufacturer .  Toshiba also showcased a recent project that utilised its digital inverter replacement technology system to replace an existing R-22 installation , that demonstrates a payback of only 2 years, complies with impending legislation and delivers significant energy cost savings.

Guest presenters included Cedric Sloane, Director of the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations (FETA), and Darcy Nicolle, a Brussels lobbyist, who discussed current industry legislation and highlighted critical issues affecting Building Services Consultants in the U.K.

During the event, consultants attended CIBSE-approved professional development courses on F-Gas legislation, SEERs/COPs and compressor technology. Since the conference, a number of Consultants have scheduled additional courses to be conducted at their premises.

The recent conference was held at Mercedez-Benz World, a facility at the Brooklands motor racing circuit. Building services consultants can learn more about Toshiba product solutions and continuing education program by visiting www.toshiba-aircon.co.uk.
